Mr. Olympia Europe returns in 2016 for the first time in 33 years

olympia europe

This year instead of the Mr. Olympia ending in September with its one event in Las Vegas, the show is going to go on for one more month. For the first time in 33 years the Mr. Olympia Europe is going to be held at the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund, Germany. The contest is going to take place exactly five weeks after the regular Mr. Olympia, and is also said to have a massive supplement expo attached.

The exact dates for the event are Friday the 21st of October through to just one day later on October 22nd. From what we can read on the official Mr. Olympia Europe website, the expo is going to be open both days although on Friday only to those there for business. From 9AM to 2PM on the Friday, to get access you will need to a “trade license” or proof that you’re an athlete. From 2PM onwards everyone else will have access until 8PM, then the whole day Saturday from 9AM to 6PM.

As for the actual bodybuilding competition, details aren’t as clear as they are for the expo. By the looks of things the finals of the IFBB contest will take place on Saturday night, although there is no mention of whether the judging is earlier that day or the day before on Friday. Feel free to check out the Mr. Olympia Europe website for yourself at mrolympiaeurope.com, where you can also sign up for updates on the show.
