About a month ago, Be Legend moved beyond the collaborations and flavor extensions it is best known for, introducing an entirely new type of protein powder. Nonfat Milk Protein debuted exclusively through the massive retailer Don Quixote and its 100s of locations, giving the brand a third core option alongside whey and soy. It is made with fat-free milk powder sourced entirely from local dairy farms in its home country of Japan.
The product took roughly two years to develop and has a purpose beyond simply expanding Be Legend’s selection. It turns Japan’s surplus nonfat milk powder into an alternative protein source while supporting the country’s dairy industry. A double serving of the innovation packs 21g of complete and quality protein with, of course, no fat, but a hefty number of carbohydrates at 50g, less than a gram of that sugar, and a calorie count of 284.
Originally, with Don Quixote, Be Legend launched Nonfat Milk Protein in Milk Cocoa, Cafe Au Lait, and Banana flavors, all in black resealable pouches. The brand has now decided to give the supplement a wider launch, putting it on Amazon Japan, Rakuten Market, and Yahoo Shopping. It is very much the same product, although this makes it more accessible, and to go with the expansion, it’s been put into brighter, white packaging.
