David did not ease into the fun and creative world of functional food. Its original Protein Bar arrived with an unheard-of 28g of protein, no sugar, and 150 calories, immediately making protein-to-calorie efficiency the company’s identity. David has since expanded into other directions, including its more flavorful Bronze bar, delicious protein ice cream, and now showing up in stores is the undoubtedly delicious David Protein Milkshake.
David has wrapped its first ready-to-drink innovation in its signature gold branding, and inside, you get a blend of ultrafiltered skim milk, the innovative EPG, and various flavoring ingredients. The result is a lean nutrition profile of 30g of protein, just 3g of carbohydrates, less than a gram of that sugar, 2g or less fat, and 140 to 150 calories. There are two classic flavors confirmed so far for the David Protein Milkshake in Chocolate and Vanilla.
We haven’t seen any images of the beverage from David itself, although it’s been talked about and has shown up in a few retailers with stock and availability. While we were extremely excited about the brand’s high-protein ice cream, we’re even more intrigued by this. With the lower-calorie EPG in the David Protein Milkshake, it should have a deliciously genuine milkshake-like taste and texture that should help separate it from the competition.
