Barebells’ Soft Candy arrived exclusively in the US a few months ago with three flavors, each matching its name with a shape based on the sweet they’re inspired by with Peach Rings, Watermelon, and Sour Cola. It was a strong start to the innovation and the brand’s entry in the world of low-sugar candy, and it left plenty of room for Barebells to expand on the menu and bring more classic gummies, shapes, and low-sugar alternatives to market.
For the first time since that debut, Barebells is adding to the menu of its enjoyably soft and deliciously sweet Soft Candy, which has only a gram of sugar per bag and 100 calories. Surprisingly, the brand’s fourth flavor of the functional food is not really anything traditional. The extension is called Cherry Kicks, a gummy candy shaped like a shoe that combines a foamy white sole with a chewy cherry jelly upper, all finished with a sour coating.
Barebells’ first three flavors of Soft Candy were all pretty familiar in terms of taste and shape, again, taking inspiration from original and popular treats. Cherry Kicks really mixes that up and shows that the brand can still very easily take things in many other directions. Barebells’ Cherry Kicks Soft Candy has gone live first on its website at $26.99 for nine 55g bags, working out to $3 a pack.
