Clif has long covered two very different sides of the functional food market with its signature oat-based Clif Bar and the more muscle-focused Builders Protein Bar. The legacy brand is now bringing those ideas closer together in Clif High Protein, a completely new product that maintains the wholesome, baked construction of its flagship snack while matching the impressive 20g of protein found in Builders.
Clif High Protein is a rather heavy product weighing in at 68g and made with rolled oats, soy and whey isolate, as well as real nut butter. Squeezed into every block is that traditional 20g of protein, between 31 to 32g of carbohydrates depending on the flavor, 5g of fiber, 5 to 6g of that sugar, 8g of fat, and a hefty 270 calories. Again, it is very much that classic Clif Bar taste, texture, and approach, but with the Builders or a really typical protein count of 20g.
The product has launched in two breakfast-inspired flavors, both sticking to that rolled oats and nut butter base recipe with Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, featuring with chocolate chips throughout, and Cinnamon French Toast, made with almonds, almond butter, and cinnamon. Both varieties of the Clif High Protein are available now through Amazon at a reasonable $7.49 for a trial-like box of four protein bars.
