Functional company Funday, similar to the likes of EHP Labs, Switch Nutrition, and Muscle Nation, is from all the way down under in Australia. Founder Daniel Kitay launched the company in 2020 after around two years of development, setting out to recreate familiar candy experiences with significantly less sugar. Six years later, Funday has become enormously successful, reporting sales exceeding $100 million (72m USD).
Central to that success is the brand’s signature combination of soft gummy candy and creamy foam, paired with bold fruit flavors and various shapes and sizes. As mentioned, its better-for-you treats keep the nutrition to a minimum with no added sugar or sugar alcohols, and it uses natural colors and flavors. The candies also have prebiotic fiber in the mix, making for an even better, better-for-you candy alternative.
Funday is now making its biggest international move yet, officially entering the US market through almost 1,300 Target stores spread across the country. That roll-out is kicking off in the coming weeks, on September 13th, and it’ll involve five Funday gummy varieties in Strawberry & Cream, Peaches & Cream, Classic Aussie Mix, Fruity Kangaroos, and Fruity Koalas. The low-calorie candy category has become more and more competitive over the last few years, which the brand looks to have an impact on later this month.
