German brand Layenberger digs deep into the functional food world, and it includes the traditional chip snack with High Protein Airy Chips. The brand has been in the kitchen and cooked up another edible item that is in the same sort of area as that one. High Protein Nachos is Layenberger’s latest, a crunchy, triangular corn snack that has not been fried, is plant-based, and comes with a good amount of protein.
Layenberger’s High Protein Nachos has a base of corn, white and whole-grain rice, pea protein, green peas, and black lentils. From a full-size 50g bag, you get a moderate 12g of protein, 30 to 32g of carbohydrates, 5.5 to 6.5g of fat, and 225 to 239 calories. The protein percentage is notably lower than Layenberger’s Airy Chips, although the nacho-style alternative is still reasonable for a functional food.
The High Protein Nachos can be purchased first and immediately through Layenberger’s official online store in all three of its classic chip flavors in Himalayan Salt, a creamy Sour Cream Taste, and the spicier Chili Lime, combining citrus, chili, paprika, turmeric, and cumin. Layenberger is selling the snacking innovation direct at €2.29 (2.68 USD) for a single bag or go for a box of six at €13.74 (15.96 USD).
