Myprotein has long been one of the busiest brands in functional food, with everything from protein bars and cookies to pancake mixes, spreads, and breakfast products. Protein Granola is also one of its longer-running releases, having been around in several forms for years. The giant sports nutrition company is now returning to that particular part of the category through a licensing partnership with Spoon Cereals.
Rather than being developed internally, the all-new Myprotein Protein Granola collection has been created by the knowledgeable team at Spoon, following six months of recipe trials, nutritional testing, and flavor refinement. The products will also be manufactured at Spoon’s own facility in Yorkshire, while the Myprotein name will open doors and put the product series in front of a substantially larger audience.
The Myprotein Protein Granola collection has three options in Peanut Butter & Chocolate, Coconut & Cashew, and Apple & Cinnamon, packing between 9 and 13g of quality protein plus high amounts of dietary fiber. The international powerhouse has done a few of these interbrand collaborations with the likes of Müller and Hotel Chocolat, and we’re seeing that strategy play out again in the breakfast aisle with an undoubtedly great-tasting competitor that offers functionality beyond extra protein.
