Apex takes inspiration from old-school ECA capsules for its seven-ingredient AF-7 pre-workout

Apex Formulas Af 7

Apex Formulas wasn’t present in the competitive pre-workout category right from the start, although it did eventually get in there from a stimulant-free angle in Apex Pump, featuring a mix of ingredients for blood flow and performance. Its next entry takes a more restrained angle to the formula, with the British brand targeting simplicity and efficacy in AF-7, although not like the stripped-down, cost-effective pre-workouts out there.

The upcoming AF-7 from Apex Formulas promotes a back-to-basics approach that goes deeper than the ingredient count, taking inspiration from old-school ECA capsules. The actual formula centers on 300mg of classic caffeine anhydrous for energy, alongside 100mg of bitter orange extract and 150mg of white willow bark.

The larger components in the AF-7 pre-workout are taurine at 2g and 1.5g of carnitine tartrate and then you get into Apex Formulas’ final two entries in 200mg of galangal root extract at a 10:1 ratio, equivalent to 2g of root, and 50mg of naringin. That completes the seven-ingredient formula, the number being reinforced in the title, and as you can see, it’s not your standard pre-workout, going after comprehensiveness more than a lengthy facts panel.

AF-7 from Apex Formulas is due to arrive later this month, with an expected price of around £29.99 (39.61 USD) for a tub of 30 servings, working out to approximately £1 per workout. That is on the more cost-effective side, but again, this is more of a targeted variety than two ingredients for pumps, two for energy, and so on. There will be four flavors at launch with Sour Citrus, Blue Raspberry, Cherry Crush, and Paradise Punch.
