Combat Crunch review, two more flavors taste tested

combat crunch review

Not too long after MusclePharm released their first edible supplement, the protein bar Combat Crunch. We released our Combat Crunch review. The main reason we got a hold of the product so quickly was because Bodybuilding.com launched it with an incredible buy one get one free deal. After our order arrived we soon discovered that MusclePharm had a hit on their hands as Combat Crunch’s unique crunch and well put together flavors set the supplement up for a solid future. Since our first Combat Crunch review the brand have gone on to add three more flavors to the menu with cinnamon twist and the two we’ve got for review today, chocolate brownie and white chocolate raspberry. We’ve definitely waited long enough to do another Combat Crunch review, which is likely to be followed by another in a few months as cookies & cream is about to arrive.

While chocolate brownie is usually a flavor brands do first for their protein bar, MusclePharm didn’t have it on the menu when Combat Crunch first arrived. We can now gladly say it was worth the wait and that its delicious looking images do the flavor justice. One of the things we noticed when we first reviewed Combat Crunch was that its bumpy crunch added another layer to the experience. With chocolate brownie the product obviously continues that theme, however it is a lot more fitting with the all chocolate recipe. Once you get through that crunch topping, the bar gets about as chocolatey as you’d expect chocolate brownie to be. If you’ve had Combat Crunch before you’ll know we don’t mean candy bar like, more the thick traditional protein bar type chocolate. The supplement has what tastes like layer upon layer of chocolate, although it is that density that gives the bar its thick chocolate experience. It is also due to that consistency that the all chocolate Combat Crunch really lives up to its name being a true example of what a high protein brownie should be like.

Despite having two other Combat Crunch flavors to try sometime soon with cookies & cream and cinnamon twist, we have to say white chocolate raspberry is now our favorite. If you’re a protein bar fan and ever tried Quest’s white chocolate raspberry, then you’ll know exactly how good MusclePharm’s recipe is. While it doesn’t quite have the chocolate chunks that Quest have in their’s. The white chocolate raspberry Combat Crunch brings together a similar light tasting chocolate and a small touch of raspberry. Combined the two tastes create quite the mixture that definitely compliments the crunch and thick consistency of the bar. As bad as the the light chocolate flavoring may sound, it actually makes sure the taste isn’t too over powering when you bite down and chew away at the dense center. It’s almost the opposite to chocolate brownie where the flavor is so thick it will feel like you’re eating two bars. As mentioned the best comparison we can come up with is Quest’s white chocolate raspberry, however Combat Crunch does have a much sweeter chocolate than the chunk free areas of Quest’s recipe.

Combat Crunch review final words

Just as we said in our first Combat Crunch review, MusclePharm have got plenty of room to run with their edible effort and today’s two flavors prove that. While we weren’t overly surprised by the density and deep chocolate taste of the chocolate brownie Combat Crunch. We definitely didn’t expect white chocolate brownie to be as sweet as it was and come out even with one of our favorite Quest Bar flavors. The product’s signature crunch still manages to add its own amplifying touch, spicing up the Combat Crunch experience and making competitor like experiences a little more memorable. From here we can only look forward to the other two tastes cinnamon twist and cookies & cream, although we do suspect even more MusclePharm recipes are on the way.
