Fusion Pro review: Strawberry Ice Cream Fusion Pro on point

fusion pro review

Ever since Dedicated Nutrition announced that it reflavored its protein powder Fusion Pro with the help of an ice cream company, we’ve been quite interested in giving the product a go. Fortunately for us we were given the chance to do just as it says on Dedicated’s Fusion Pro samples, try the supplement before we die. We were sent three of the protein’s five flavors, Cookies & Ice Cream, Choco-Tella Ice Cream and Strawberry Ice Cream, all of which we are going to be reviewing for you here today.

We’re going to start things off by saying all three Fusion Pro flavors are fairly light when it comes to taste. In saying that we might just be used to heavier flavoring, either way to get the best taste out of the product we did mix it in with a little less water than normal. It does of course make the protein relatively thick, although it also instantly strengthens the flavor.

Choco-Tella not what we expected

The first one up for our Fusion Pro review is in fact Choco-Tella, as surprisingly of the three it is our least favorite. From what we know Chocotella is a Nutella like recipe, being a combination of chocolate and hazelnut. You can kind of see the flavor translated in Dedicated’s Fusion Pro, however the balance isn’t as enjoyable as it sounds. The chocolate really isn’t as strong as we expected, with the sweetness of Choco-Tella’s other half almost masking the chocolate completely. This is our first encounter with a Chocotella supplement so it may just be that the flavor isn’t for us, but is definitely light on the chocolate.

All about the cookies

Next on the list is Cookies & Ice Cream, which we have to say is far better than Choco-Tella Fusion Pro. Despite the flavor still being quite light, Dedicated has managed to put together a cookies and cream protein that delivers a real sweet cookie taste. The cookie side of the product is so strong in fact you could almost get away with simply calling it cookies. There isn’t really any hint of cream to the flavor, although that’s certainly not a bad thing. The cookie taste comes off like blended chocolate cookies and water, a delicious combination that will have you throwing back your shake in one go.

Strawberry Ice Cream on point

Last but not least is actually the Fusion Pro flavor we last expected to be our favorite, Strawberry Ice Cream. As great as strawberry proteins are, they always seem to be the same story. Dedicated however mixes things up with its effort, bringing a real strawberry milkshake recipe to the table. Right from the smell, to the first and last sip, Strawberry Ice Cream Fusion Pro is a treat. It brings together a strong strawberry sweetness and a solid creamy base, resulting in a thick milkshake like experience that consistently holds its delicious strawberry taste from start to finish. It’s almost surprising the strawberry is as strong as it is, especially since Choco-Tella and Cookies & Ice Cream are so light.

Two out of three ain’t bad

Overall both Cookies & Ice Cream and Strawberry Ice Cream Fusion Pro are solid flavors, with the latter being one we would be more than happy to purchase. Dedicated’s Strawberry Ice Cream is in fact one of the best strawberry proteins we’ve tried in quite some time. Choco-Tella as mentioned is the only one of the three we didn’t like, although being such a unique flavor we imagine it will or probably already has a fan base. We do eventually look forward to trying the supplement’s other two, Banana and Vanilla Ice Cream. More so the banana, as it would be interesting to see how it compares to the fruity Fusion Pro we have tried and thoroughly enjoyed.
