Everything you need to know about the 2016 Protein Wars

protein wars

After taking in all the suggestions via Facebook, Twitter, email, and everything in between, we finally have our list of competitors for the 2016 Protein Wars. As mentioned previously we have bumped up the amount spaces available compared to last year, squeezing in 25% more with a total 64 protein powders. We’ve listed all of the competitors and when they’ll be competing below as well as a detailed breakdown of how this year’s Protein Wars is going to play out.

For those of you that are new to the Stack3d Protein Wars or missed any of our previous posts on the topic. It is a knockout style competition where we get everyone to vote and help find the most popular protein on the market. This year the contest is going to be run a little bit quicker despite having more entrants, going from Monday the 14th of November through to Sunday the 18th of December. There is once again a trophy up for grabs, which we first introduced last year and ended up going to the 2015 Champion, Nutrabio Whey Protein Isolate.

There is going to be a total of four rounds, the first being 16 battles each made up of 4 protein powders. That will be broken up into 8 battles per week for two weeks, we’ll then take the 16 winners from that and run 4 more battles the following week, with each one also made up of 4 proteins. Once all that is done we’ll move into the semifinals with two head to head contests. The Protein Wars will then finish in the week of December 12th with the grand final between the last two proteins.

We have also decided to keep the percentages live and viewable this year, however keep in mind we do double check all the votes for suspicious activity at the end so it’s not really over until we do the final count. After running the Protein Wars for three years we do know how to spot fake or spam votes. We won’t ever say who they belong to as a competitor could easily spam another, but to keep things fair, ALL SUSPICIOUS VOTES WILL BE DELETED. One more thing, in the rare case of a draw, both proteins will progress into the next round.

You can see the full list of competitors in the 2016 Protein Wars below, including dates for when they’ll first be competing. To make things more exciting you can also see the first round randomized matchups below which will no doubt bring some surprise knockouts.
