Mass Jym takes Pro Jym’s blend and mixes it with carbohydrates

For quite some time there has been talk of a mass protein formula from Jym. The unreleased supplement was said to appropriately be called Mass Jym, with no details released about any of its macros or ingredients. Without any kind of tease or hype, Mass Jym has come out of nowhere and officially been released through Jym’s original exclusive retailer Bodybuilding.com.

As far as gainers go, the new Mass Jym is actually a fairly lean formula featuring a balanced 1:1 ratio of protein and carbohydrates. The protein actually comes from the same blend of sources used in Pro Jym with micellar casein, milk isolate, whey isolate, and egg albumin. It is only really the carbohydrates that separate Mass Jym from Pro Jym, with the mass protein packing a blend of pea starch, polydextrose, dextrose, isomaltulose, oat fiber.

Moving on to the all important nutrition numbers of Mass Jym, each of its fairly light 72g servings has 30g of protein, 30g of carbohydrates with 7g of that sugar and 4g fiber, 4g of fat (a gram saturated), and a total of 280 calories. As mentioned the product is definitely more on the lean gainer side, especially with just 280 calories. Even at two servings you only get 560 calories, which is high, but certainly not big compared to some of the 1,000 calorie formulas out there.

It is also worth mentioning that Mass Jym does feature just as much transparency as Pro Jym if not more, as it lists exactly how much protein and carbohydrate you get from each of its sources. It doesn’t seem to have them on its actual facts panel but the numbers are 9g of protein each from micellar casein, milk isolate, and whey isolate, and 3g from egg albumin. As for the carbohydrates you get 3g from dextrose, 14.5g pea starch, 4g polydextrose, 2g isomaltulose, a quarter of a gram from oat fiber, and 5.5g from the creamer/flavor system.

Mass Jym can now be purchased from Bodybuilding.com in the one 31 serving, 5lb tub size, for just under $50 at $47.97. It comes in a total of three flavors, all of which will be familiar to Jym fans are they are all from Pro Jym’s menu with Chocolate Cookie Crunch, Vanilla, and S’mores.
