Amazon Elements Whey Protein Review: Bearable flavor at a competitive price

amazon elements whey protein review

Last month Amazon’s brand Amazon Elements, surprised us with the launch of its first ever protein powder, the self-explanatory Grass-Fed 100% Whey Protein Isolate. The high-quality protein formula was also given an extremely competitive price tag of $34.99 which dropped to an incredible $27.99 around this year’s Amazon Prime Day.

Being the first Amazon Elements protein powder, we felt we had to get our hands on Grass-Fed 100% Whey Protein Isolate for review. This week we jumped on Amazon and did just that, purchasing the supplement’s 30 serving, 2lb tub size in its all-natural Chocolate flavor.

In our experience supplements such as protein powders that are well priced, don’t always taste that great. As for the Amazon Elements’ grass-fed whey protein, that’s not exactly the case, as it is competitively priced and flavored quite well, especially when you take into consideration that it’s naturally flavored.

We’d say the Chocolate Grass-Fed 100% Whey Protein Isolate is on par with most mainstream whey proteins, naturally or unnaturally flavored. It’s not great and doesn’t have any kind of sweetness or unforgettable taste to it, but it’s easily recognizable as a chocolate flavor and definitely something we’d consider bearable.

Surprisingly, despite being a whey isolate and having a somewhat thin flavor, the Amazon Elements protein still has a noticeable taste when mixing one scoop with as much as 12oz of water. When you concentrate it down to around 6oz, it doesn’t really change all that much, maintaining its light, fairly average chocolate taste.

For the price you pay for Amazon Element’s naturally flavored Grass-Fed 100% Whey Protein Isolate, it’s actually a pretty good buy. As mentioned, the Chocolate flavor is certainly bearable, and at a price of $34.99 which has dropped as low as $27.99, it’s an incredibly competitive option for grass-fed protein powder users.
