Protein pizza company Real Good Foods gets into the healthy ice cream game

Up until this week, the team at the functional company Real Good Foods, had only stuck to more balanced, heat and eat foods with things like Chicken Poppers, Enchiladas, and its original high protein pizza. Today the brand has revealed and released a family of products that is far from anything else in its lineup, introducing Real Good Ice Cream.

Much like the company’s many other items, its first real sweet-type product takes a traditional food with ice cream, and put it into a one-pint tub with a healthy spin. Real Good Ice Cream is made using some typical ice cream ingredients, to get it as close to the real thing as possible, plus the brand promises no icy or chalky texture, or disappointing light flavor.

The main ingredients Real Good Foods is making its ice cream with are milk, cream, egg yolk, and the sugar substitute allulose, which is used in a lot of healthy, high protein snacks these days. The macros on a single tub of Real Good Ice Cream start with 12 to 14g of protein, a high 58 to 63g of carbohydrates with 13 to 17g of that sugar, 44 to 49g of fat, and calories from 530 all the way up to 600.

Basically, Real Good Foods’ first-ever frozen-treat is more calorie-dense when compared to the likes of Halo Top and its popular ice cream, but it does have less protein, lighter carbohydrates, and a lot more fat, hence the higher amount of calories. As mentioned, the brand does plan to make up for those higher calories by delivering a better, more ice cream like experience.

Real Good Foods has put together five flavors for its tub of ice cream with Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, Tanzanian Vanilla, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. The fifth and final option for Real Good Foods Ice Cream is meant to be a mystery and limited edition; however, in pictures, you can see there is a Salted Caramel flavor, which we assume to be that mystery product.

Real Good Ice Cream is now available for pre-order directly through the brand’s website with orders due to ship one week from today. You can currently only purchase the product in a bundle with one of each flavors. The cost of that bundle is $49.99, although for the next 48 hours, you can use the code “SCOOPME” to save 15% on the ice cream and get free shipping.
