EFX Sports enters the protein bar market with a peanut butter-based product

EFX Sports, the brand behind the well-known carbohydrate Karbolyn, has come out with its first-ever protein bar, or energy bar, as it refers to itself on its label. The brand has named the product ‘Karbolyn Energy Bar’, as it does indeed feature EFX’s signature Karbolyn as a quality source of carbohydrates, although it is not the biggest feature in the on-the-go snack.

The Karbolyn Energy Bar has been in the works for over a year and is actually a peanut butter-based protein bar, similar to the Outright Protein Bar from Marc Lobliner’s functional brand Outright. EFX Sports has combined that nut butter base with Protalyn whey isolate, just like in its protein powder, Vitafiber IMO, the sugar substitute allulose, and as mentioned, Karbolyn.

The nutrition profile on EFX Sports’ Karbolyn Energy Bar is also actually quite similar to an Outright Protein Bar packing 16g of protein, 30g of carbohydrates with 4g of that sugar, 13g of fat, and 250 calories. Those macros are for the product’s classic Peanut Butter flavor, which is currently the only option available for the newest entry into the busy bar market.

The Karbolyn Energy Bar is already available for purchase through EFX Sports’ online store, with Amazon expected to be stocking it sometime soon as well. The price on a box of 12 is $32.99, which works out to $2.75 each, and it is also just the beginning, as the brand is teasing what sounds like many more competitors for the functional food space.
