Foodspring doesn’t keep the protein all that high in its plant-based pancakes

German functional food and sports supplement company Foodspring has given fans a plant-based, vegan-friendly version of one of its many baking products. The original item is Protein Pancakes, which is a powder supplement for you to create your own lean, high-protein pancakes, and as mentioned, the brand now has a vegan-friendly alternative.

Foodspring’s all-new Vegan Protein Pancakes are available in the one “Neutral” flavor and cost a bit more than the original Protein Pancakes at €14.99 (18.19 USD), but you do get more powder. As for the macros on the spin-off, the overall calories on an 80 serving are about the same, although that’s not the story when it comes to protein and carbohydrates.

Foodspring’s Vegan Protein Pancakes aren’t all that high in protein, with 18g in an 80g serving versus the dairy-based pancake’s much larger 48g. The carbohydrates are not close either with the Vegan Protein Pancakes at 46g versus the original’s 14g. Once again, the product is available now through the Foodspring website at €14.99 for a 480g tub.
