Markus Rühl’s brand Rühls Bestes makes a protein bar that’s a slab of lean beef

Ruhls Bestes Beef Protein Bar

German brand Rühls Bestes from legendary bodybuilder Markus Rühl has introduced an on-the-go snack, and it is very different from your typical protein bar. The latest from Rühls Bestes is Beef Protein Bar, as it is indeed a beef-based bar with essentially a block of lean beef, although surprisingly, it’s not as lean as Icon Meals’ extremely similar Wag Bar packing 15g of protein and 90 calories.

Rühls Bestes Beef Protein Bar, which appears to just be a slab of dry beef, does say that it is made with many other ingredients in whey concentrate, almonds, honey, and brown sugar. The product’s nutrition profile, as mentioned, is not as lean as similar competitors starting with 17 to 18g of protein, around 10.5g of carbohydrates with a little more than half of that sugar, 3g of fat, and 138 to 143 calories.

While we didn’t think the carbohydrates would be as high as they are, the macros of Rühls Bestes Beef Protein Bar are still very impressive and beat out your typical protein bar by a long shot. The product comes in two flavors, hence the range of nutrition highlighted above, with Smoked Paprika and the mildly higher calorie option Hot Peppered, which as per the name, does come with a bit of a spicy side.

Markus Rühl’s online store at Rühl24 already has the Beef Protein Bar from Rühls Bestes in stock and available for purchase in both flavors at €12.95 (12.67 USD) for a small pack of five. Unfortunately, there is no variety bundle, like we personally prefer for functional foods, so you’ll need to grab five of Smoked Paprika and five of the spicy Hot Peppered to try the protein snack’s full menu.
