ESN’s oat-based Designer Series snack gets two special edition flavors for Winter

Esn Designer Oatbar Marzipan

In the European market, there are several different shapes, sizes, and formats of functional foods, as that part of the world has a significantly more creative variety of products. One of the more common ones is an oat-based bar, commonly referred to as a flapjack in the UK, and when it involves a sports nutrition brand, it tends to also involve higher protein. ESN in Germany has indeed got one of those oat-powered products, and it continues its “Designer” protein naming convention in the ESN Designer Oatbar.

The functional innovation from ESN has a hefty build, common for oat protein bars and flapjacks, tipping the scales at a sizeable 100g a piece. The nutrition breakdown includes 6 to 6.5g of protein, so not enough to consider this a high-protein snack, with 24g of fat, 54g of carbohydrates, 32 to 33g of that sugar, and a strong calorie count of 456 to 458. Those macros specifically actually belong to the two new tastes that just hit the market for the on-the-go product in Marzipan and biscuit-inspired Spekulatius.

ESN’s Designer Oatbar is essentially a high-carbohydrate snack with a lot more fat and moderate protein, and now it comes in those two flavors Marzipan and Spekulatius, but you’ll want to be quick. The German brand is promoting the flavor extensions as limited Winter Editions, suggesting they won’t be around permanently like the other tastes already available. If you head over to esn.com shortly, you can get either or both of the drops on sale and individually, as opposed to in a box, at a low €1.90 (2.04 USD) a piece.
