MuscleBlaze delivers a robust formula in its Saket Gokhale pre-workout Alter Ego

Muscle Blaze Alter Ego Pre Workout

MuscleBlaze is one of the biggest sports nutrition brands out of India, and it covers a lot of ground with protein powders, amino acids, creatine, muscle builders, and, of course, pre-workouts, a category its latest of which falls into. Alter Ego is the title of MuscleBlaze’s newest entry into the saturated pre-workout space, and it has been put together in partnership with ambassador and fitness influencer Saket Gokhale, and the formula is not too bad, being that it’s competing in the Indian market.

Alter Ego from MuscleBlaze and Saket Gokhale is a relatively well-rounded pre-workout, with as many ingredients for energy and focus as it does for muscle pumps and performance, plus there is a bit of a premium touch. Again, in India, sports nutrition products aren’t supremely advanced at least compared to here in the US or other matured regions like the UK, Germany, Sweden, Australia, and Canada.

For pumps, MuscleBlaze’s pre-workout Alter Ego includes 3g of citrulline malate at the usual two-to-one ratio of citrulline to malic acid, so roughly 2g of that is citrulline and 1.05g of premium Nitrosigine, then for performance, you get 2.4g of beta-alanine and a gram of taurine. For the stimulating side of the supplement, there is a simple blend of theanine and caffeine, dosed at 200mg each; as mentioned, the combination is nothing too complex or dosed overly impressively, but it’s respectable for India.

The other side of the coin for sports nutrition supplements in MuscleBlaze’s home country is the price, as while the ingredients and dosages you get in the majority of them aren’t anything groundbreaking, the costs are notoriously competitive, and that’s in comparison to the rest of the world. The pre-workout collaboration Alter Ego is available directly from the brand’s online store at ₹1,499 (17.93 USD) for a tub of 25 servings, and it has room to scale up the serving, although that does raise the value.
