Traditional pastry treat palmier becomes a chocolate-covered protein treat at Quamtrax

Quamtrax Protein Palmiers

Life Pro Nutrition in Spain may be one of the busiest in the world when it comes to functional food and protein-snacking innovations, but there is another competitor out of that same country that is almost as fast-paced and equally as creative. Quamtrax Nutrition is another Spanish brand that has just introduced Protein Palmiers, inspired by the traditional French treat referred to by many other names, including pig’s ear and palm heart, which comes from the shape of the pastry treat.

Quamtrax Nutrition’s Protein Palmiers brings a twist of protein to the traditional snack, where you get a similar heart-shaped soft and smooth product that is covered in chocolate, and, as the name suggests, it is much higher in protein and simply better for you. As delicious as the Quamtrax creation sounds, the macros are more than fair, with 14g of protein from a pair of two 25g palmiers, a low 4.9g of carbohydrates, none of that sugar, and a hefty 17.2g of fat contributing over 150 points to the calorie count.

Europe has always been the king of functional foods and incredibly delicious protein snacks, something we’ve said time and time again. Quamtrax Nutrition’s Protein Palmiers is simply this week’s example of that, and it is an interesting one with the palmier format; however, the high fat and calories do make this more of a better-for-you product rather than a lean protein snack.
