Vital Proteins to save 1,800 metric tons of plastic per year with its paperboard-based bottles

Vital Proteins Paperboard Packaging

Collagen Peptides is the supplement health and wellness specialist Vital Proteins is most known for, although the next time you go to buy a bottle, it may look a little bit different. The popular brand has kept the colors, graphics, and various details the same, and all of the hair, skin, and nail health goodness inside the bottle is identical. Why you’ll find it a bit different is because Vital Proteins has shifted the packaging, as in the bottle, the unflavored collagen peptide powder is stored inside.

Vital Proteins has shifted away from the traditional plastic bottle for its signature Collagen Peptides and into a significantly more environmentally-friendly paperboard-based bottle. Instead of a blue lid and label, and white bottle, the supplement now has an all-over blue design, actually giving it a cleaner look and feel, and bolder presence overall. The important part about the new packaging is that it’s 80% paperboard and is curbside recyclable, which is a huge 90% reduction in plastic for the brand.

Collagen Peptides is only the first supplement under the Vital Proteins banner to be given the new paperboard bottle, but it will be expanded across to all of its other canister offerings, including the likes of Marine Collagen, Daily Greens, and even the Professional Bioactive Collagen Complex. The health and wellness brand has put together some huge numbers on how much plastic it’ll save when everything is in the paperboard packaging, working out to an eye-watering 1,800 metric tons of plastic.
