Musashi gets into sports drinks with a functional formula featuring more than electrolytes

Musashi Hydrate Sports Drink

There has been a massive uptick in interest in the hydration category in multiple formats, not just the traditional style of flavored powder. Over the last couple of years, companies around the world have been introducing dedicated hydration supplements, many in convenient stick packs, and some have even taken it a step further and made ready-to-drink offerings. Legacy brand Musashi in Australia and New Zealand has just rolled out precisely that with the Musashi Hydrate sports drink.

The newly released Musashi Hydrate from Musashi is a bit more than just electrolytes to support hydration and performance, as you get with most beverages of this type. Every bottle of the product has 990mg of BCAAs at the usual 2:1:1 ratio, various vitamins, and 14.6g of carbohydrates from high-quality SusCarb highly branched cyclic dextrin. Again, there are plenty of electrolytes at a combined 640mg, including 100mg of potassium, 240mg of chloride, and 191mg of sodium.

Musashi Hydrate touches on all of the key areas of a sports drink and a few extras, with vitamins, carbohydrates for fuel, and electrolytes for hydration. The SusCarb does add nutrition, as mentioned, bringing 14.6g of carbs to the table with 64 calories, but it is functional and makes the product even more suited for exercise and physical activity. Musashi has launched the beverage in three flavors, all out and available first in New Zealand with Blue Razz, Green Apple, and Lemon Lime.
