Rocka looks to deliver a Kinder Bueno like experience in its latest protein treat

Rocka Nutrition Waffle Protein Bar

Rocka Nutrition has always had a strong presence in traditional supplement formats as well as functional foods, with protein powders, pre-workout, multivitamins, and various other specialty categories, plus protein bars, low-calorie sauces, and flavor drops and powder. The German company has brought down the size of its selection over the years but still remains strong in those departments and is strengthening the functional side this week with the launch of the Rocka Waffle Protein Bar.

The name of the product may have you thinking of something else entirely, but the latest from Rocka Nutrition in Germany is best described as a better-for-you version of Kinder’s legendary Bueno candy bar. The Waffle Protein Bar has that same sort of build with a gooey center, a thin and almost wafer-like layer around the outside, and that is all covered in rich milk chocolate. As mouthwatering as the product looks and sounds, the nutrition is right around your typical high-protein treat.

Rocka Nutrition squeezes 7.2g of protein into its Waffle Protein Bar, and while that isn’t a lot, the product itself is not very big, tipping the scales at 30g a piece. The other macros are 7.2g of carbohydrates, just 300mg of that sugar, 12g of fat, and 160 calories. For a better-for-you candy bar or a treat that’s high in protein, Rocka has done a respectable job on paper and in pictures. The Waffle Protein Bar is made with hazelnut, cocoa butter, and reliable sweeteners, so it has all of the tools to deliver a Kinder Bueno-like experience.

Fans of Rocka Nutrition and functional food in general can snap up the all-new Waffle Protein Bar straight through its online store, and to make it even less of a commitment to try for the first time, the brand sells it in boxes of six, not the usual 12, at €14.99 (16.31 USD).
