The energy drink giant Monster may have a mountain of products to choose from at the moment, like the original Green Monster, Java Monster, Juice Monster, Rehab Monster, and of course, the incredibly delicious Monster Ultra. There are just as many products that have been discontinued in the company’s long history, some of them loved by fans and some not, and amongst that graveyard is the caffeine-free Monster Unleaded.
The point of Monster Unleaded was to give you all of that signature Green Monster Energy Drink flavor with all of the same carbohydrates, sugar, and calories, but none of the caffeine. It was essentially a Green Monster Drink, no caffeine attached. Fans of the beverage brand and energy drink collectors will be interested to hear that starting this year, in the far reaches of Japan, you can find that Unleaded concept in a small 250ml can.
Now available in the fast-paced market of Japan is a Monster Energy Drink that is caffeine-free, and like Monster Unleaded, it still has that unforgettable Green Monster flavor. The catch with this is that you won’t find it in coolers or stores; it is exclusively available at restaurants. It has been launched as a mixer to go in alcoholic beverages, and that is the reason the brand removed the caffeine, to encourage more responsible drinking.
