Savas lowers the protein and lightens the flavor for the clear-like extension of its protein shake

Savas Lychee Milk Protein

The popular and widely available Japanese supplement company Savas has developed not just a new flavor for one of its many different protein drinks, but an easier way to ramp up your daily protein intake. Traditionally, protein powders and ready-to-drink protein products come with a thick, or at least heavy, milkshake-like experience, in delicious dessert flavors like chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream, and even peanut butter.

Savas is looking to deliver something different in its latest innovation, with a Lychee flavor of its Milk Protein Drink. It has the same milk-based formula as the beverage’s Cocoa and Cafe Latte options, although the protein has been scaled down from 30g of protein to a significantly lower 10g. The goal is still to provide a fair amount of protein, although the smaller 10g and refreshing flavor is intended to make it a lighter, more seamless drinking experience.

It’s a nice contrast to the heavier Cocoa and Cafe Latte flavors of the Savas Milk Protein Drink, and perfectly suited for those who want something more in line with a bottle of juice, essentially a clear protein shake. The tradeoff is that you only get 10g of protein, which does come with lighter numbers elsewhere, including 9g of carbohydrates, less than a gram of that sugar, zero fat, and a sub-100-calorie count of 79.
