Very few brands have spoken out about their take on the amino spiking issue, with of course those who have all sharing their dislike for the tactic and how at the end of the day consumers lose out. Some of the most notable rants have come from Marc Lobliner of MTS Nutrition and Tiger Fitness, Jim Stoppani of the Bodybuilding.com exclusive Jym range, and even Eric Tomko of Muscle Elements. The latest to show their disgust for the method is Labrada Nutrition with a post from Dr. Daniel Gwartney. The brand’s article actually go over a lot more than just spiking, featuring a solid introduction on the history of similar tricks and the market itself. Once you get into the meat of the story Gwartney does a great job at breaking down the issue, what it is, how brands are doing it, and what it means to you. Near the end you’ll get to the powerful lines with gems like, “Protein spiking is just one more example of the bodybuilding industry being infiltrated by those chasing dollars”, which really just sums it all up. As informative as it is, Labrada and Gwartney do keep it entertaining so if you have a spare moment definitely give the post a read.
