Iconic Cookie Review: Frequent chocolate chips and clumps

Iconic Cookie Review

Icon Meals initially caught our attention when we sampled its incredibly delicious, protein-packed Power Popcorn. Because that product was so unforgettable, we knew we had to try the brand’s new protein-packed Iconic Cookie when it landed two weeks ago.

Iconic Cookie nutrition

Before we get into the taste of the one flavor we purchased from Icon — Chocolate Chip — we’ll quickly go over the nutrition. Each cookie provides a reasonable 15g of protein mostly from whey protein, 32g of carbohydrates with 3g of that fiber and 6g sugar, 8g of fat, and a total of 260 calories.

As you can see, like a lot of protein cookies, Icon’s Iconic Cookie isn’t exactly on the level of a protein bar nutrition wise. It has less protein for more calories, but it certainly works as a sweet protein fueled treat, much like the delicious Power Popcorn.

Iconic Cookie Review

Built like MyCookie

If you’re a regular protein cookie eater, the first thing you’ll probably notice when you open the Iconic Cookie is that it looks similar to ProSupps’ MyCookie. The build, body, and toppings look almost identical, in fact, its macro balance is also relatively close. With that said we have tried MyCookie, and we’d have to say we prefer the Iconic Cookie.

Extra chocolate

The product comes with a smooth, doughy protein bar like consistency that’s easy to bite through and chew, like a lot of its cookie competitors. Where the Iconic Cookie sets itself apart, however, at least with the Chocolate Chip flavor, is that it has a lot more chocolate to it.

Iconic Cookie Review

The Iconic Cookie seems to be more frequent with chocolate chips, and you get quite a bit of bunching with the squiggly chocolate topping. The result is that you get a nice, consistent hint of chocolate throughout the protein snack, although don’t be surprised if you get some, dull, slightly less chocolate filled areas every so often.

Competitive protein cookie

Overall the Iconic Cookie is not bad. It is somewhat disappointing that it’s so much similar to ProSupps’ MyCookie, but Icon makes up for it by squeezing in a little more chocolate sweetness. We can’t, unfortunately, vouch for the other flavors in the Iconic Cookie lineup but if they’re anything like the Chocolate Chip, and you enjoy MyCookies, you won’t be let down.
