Promera Sports owner files patent infringement lawsuit against GNC

vireo systems gnc lawsuit

Vireo Systems, the owner of Promera Sports, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the major supplement retailer GNC. Vireo and the University of Nebraska own six patents covering the concentrated creatine, creatine HCl, which is marketed through Promera Sports under the name CON-CRET®.

The claim by Vireo Systems is that a few of GNC’s supplements infringe on its creatine HCl patents. The supplements named in the lawsuit include AMP Creatine HCl 189, GNC Pro Performance Creatine Complex Chew, Beyond Raw® Chemistry Labs® Creatine HCl, and GNC Pro Performance XR Series Creatine Advance XR.

You can read the official and full press release from Vireo Systems in this link, that goes into a bit more detail on everything. There are also a couple of quotes in there from the president of the company, Mark Faulkner.
