Promera Sports owner files patent infringement lawsuit against GNC

Vireo Systems, the owner of Promera Sports, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the major supplement retailer GNC. Vireo and the University of Nebraska own six patents covering the concentrated creatine, creatine HCl, which is marketed through Promera Sports under the name CON-CRET®.

The claim by Vireo Systems is that a few of GNC’s supplements infringe on its creatine HCl patents. The supplements named in the lawsuit include AMP Creatine HCl 189, GNC Pro Performance Creatine Complex Chew, Beyond Raw® Chemistry Labs® Creatine HCl, and GNC Pro Performance XR Series Creatine Advance XR.
