To start the year, the creative functional company Legendary Foods came out with a slightly different version of its high-protein toaster pastry, the Tasty Pastry, introducing the Cake Style Tasty Pastry. It is essentially a larger, thicker, creamier, and higher-protein version of the original, which was introduced in a sweet and rainbow sprinkled Birthday Cake flavor.
One month later, Legendary Foods is back with another flavor of the Cake Style Tasty Pastry, giving fans a second way to enjoy the thicker and creamier experience. The Tasty Pastry spin-off is now available in a cakey Red Velvet flavor, featuring a creamy center and a cake-like red velvet body, all topped with deliciously sweet icing and red sprinkles.
The nutrition profile on Legendary Foods’ Red Velvet Tasty Pastry is much the same as its first Cake Style flavor in Birthday Cake with 20g of protein, 5g of net carbohydrates, under a gram of sugar, 7g of fat, and 170 calories. Those macros are better than most protein bars, as they too have 20g of protein but typically more calories at around 200 to 220.
Legendary Foods is already stocking its Red Velvet Cake Style Tasty Pastry on its website at $22.32 for a box of eight high-protein toaster pastries. The Vitamin Shoppe is also now stocking the product, although it’s priced a little more there at $34.99 for a box of 12.
