GAT puts 25g of protein and 11g of carbs in each serving of its new Whey Matrix

Gat Sport Whey Matrix

GAT Sport has followed up its teaser from last week about its upcoming protein powder, excitingly described as “something delicious”, with a complete reveal and release of an all-new supplement. Now available from the long-running sports nutrition brand is the protein product simply named Whey Matrix, although it is not as straightforward as it sounds.

Whey Matrix from GAT Sport provides a solid 25g of protein per serving, from four separate sources in whey and milk concentrate, and much lower amounts of whey isolate and hydrolyzed whey, which are included in the supplement at fewer amounts than the sweetener sucralose. The rest of Whey Matrix’s nutrition profile is made up of 3.5g of fat, notably high 11g of carbohydrates, 8g of that sugar, and 180 calories.

That carbohydrate count does push up the serving weight of GAT Sport’s Whey Matrix to a hefty 45g, so from a large 4.5lb tub, you only get 45 servings. That’s not much compared to the likes of a straight isolate such as Nutrabio’s Whey Protein Isolate, which 4.5lbs of would get you about 65 servings with that same 25g of protein in each. It’s always worth paying attention to nutrition and servings as most of the time, they’re not the same or similar.

As mentioned, GAT Sport describes Whey Matrix as a delicious mouthwatering experience, with two flavors to choose from at launch; Chocolate Ice Cream and Vanilla Ice Cream. They’re both available directly from the brand’s website at a currently discounted $71.99 for that full-size tub of 45 servings or 48 for the Vanilla, but that’s with 24g of protein in each.
