Gatorade announces its sugar-free and caffeine-infused sports drink Fast Twitch

Gatorade Fast Twitch Drink

Fast Twitch is an all-new beverage coming soon from Gatorade, and if that name sounds familiar, that’s because it is the title of an already available, long-running sports nutrition product from CytoSport. Back in 2019, corporate giant PepsiCo acquired the legacy brand CytoSport for a mammoth $465 million, which included the transition of CytoSport’s incredibly popular and well-known Muscle Milk line.

PepsiCo is also the owner of Gatorade, so the connection and use of the name Fast Twitch all make sense. Fast Twitch is branded more as a product on its own, with the only mention of Gatorade on the front of its label saying that it’s “from the makers of Gatorade”. The beverage itself is a hybrid of sorts, combining the features of a typical sports drink with a solid dose of caffeine for energy whenever and wherever you need it.

Fast Twitch comes with a blend of B vitamins, electrolytes to fuel hydration and performance, a good amount of caffeine at 200mg to drive energy, no sugar, and a light calorie range of five to ten. The product will be available in a 12oz bottle, and fans won’t be short on flavor options with six to choose from in Orange, Strawberry Lemonade, Cool Blue, Tropical Mango, Glacier Freeze, and Strawberry Watermelon.

Once again, the Fast Twitch beverage from PepsiCo and Gatorade is due to launch around February of next year, which is still a while away at about five months to half a year. The performance drink actually has a deal in place with the NFL — who worked with Gatorade to create and develop Fast Twitch — where players will be drinking the upcoming product on the sidelines during games in the 2022 season.
