Barebells layers raspberry on a licorice base for its fifth flavor of the Soft Protein Bar

Barebells Berry Licorice Soft Protein Bar

Barebells’ Soft Protein Bar is exactly that, a smoother and softer protein bar compared to the Swedish brand’s signature snack, the Barebells Protein Bar. The even more interesting feature of the product is that each of its flavors has a different build and combination of textures, so they all have their own individual experience, with the Salted Caramel Peanut probably being our favorite so far.

Barebells is adding to the menu of its Soft Protein Bar this week, introducing the fifth flavor of the product since it first came to market as the Soft Protein Bar back at the end of 2021. We’ve seen some delicious options rolled out for the flavor-first protein bar, although the latest might be the most unique. The brand has taken a flavor from its ice cream tub and stick and made a Berry Licorice Soft Protein Bar.

The main body of Barebells’ Berry Licorice Soft Protein Bar is said to be where the licorice taste lies, then along the top, you get a layer of raspberry cream, then all wrapped in chocolate. The nutrition profile of the product is similar to the Soft Protein Bar’s other four options, providing 16g of protein, 20g of carbohydrates with just 2g of that sugar, 4.4g of fat, and a calorie count of 197.

While licorice as a flavor for a protein bar may seem odd, we’ve seen it quite a bit from brands in the Scandanavian region, including items like protein bars and protein drinks, so this isn’t all that surprising. Either way, Barebells is rolling out its intriguing new Berry Licorice Soft Protein Bar in its home country of Sweden this week, starting the New Year strong.
