Flavor names revealed as Powerade prepares to roll out its family of sour sports drinks

Powerade Sour Series

At last year’s industry-level convenience show, NACS, in Atlanta, Georgia, alongside many other major sports drinks, legacy competitor Powerade previewed three intriguing new flavors of its signature and recently reformulated hydration beverage. Marketing and the crew at the Powerade booth confirmed the coming of the Powerade Sour Series, a collection of three refreshing tastes of the brand’s signature sports drink, all with an intriguing sour twist to their flavor profile.

Powerade had the Sour Series available to sample and did indeed say they would be making their way to market sometime early this year. The brand didn’t have exact names at the time but said one would be blue raspberry, another green apple, and the third would involve watermelon. The fun flavor collection is now about to make its way to shelves, and with that has come the official names of the Powerade Sour Series members, and they are in line with what we were told.

The flavors coming soon to Powerade’s many stockists across the country are Sour Blue Raspberry, Sour Green Apple, and something of a spin on a traditional watermelon in Sour Watermelon Lime. Again, each of the Powerade Sour Series tastes has a sour angle to them, so don’t expect a supremely straightforward blue raspberry, for example, but count on all of the usual benefits of electrolytes and hydration fans have come to rely on from a 28oz bottle of Powerade.
