Europe’s long-running QNT makes a pancake mix packing 11g of protein and under a gram of sugar

Qnt Protein Pancake

The world of functional food in the UK and Europe is massive compared to everywhere else, so much so that there are some common types of products that despite being available from many competitors in that part of the world, they’re still uncommon here in the US. One of those staple functional efforts in that region is protein baking mixes, where you get a powder that can be quickly turned into high-protein foods like pancakes, muffins, or waffles, which is what QNT has just dropped into its catalog.

The simply named Protein Pancake is the latest creation from the long-running European company QNT, and much like we said and as per its name, it is a powder supplement that you combine with water, turn into a batter, throw on the pan, and voilĂ  you have yourself extra protein pancakes. The nutrition profile of a single serving, before the powder is turned into batter or pancakes, is a moderate 11g of protein, primarily from eggs and milk, 13g of carbohydrates, under a gram of sugar, and 130 calories.

The macros are not too bad, especially compared to traditional pancakes, pushing the protein up there, as you’d expect with a name like QNT Protein Pancake, and at the same time, keeping the sugar low and other numbers within reason. The European brand is rolling out its better-for-you baking mix in a basic Natural and four actual flavors, all breakfast-themed in Chocolate, Blueberry, Banana, and Apple Cinnamon.
