Genius dives deeper into functional food with a nutritionally balance rice cake

Genius Nutrition Rice Cake

Genius Nutrition in Europe jumped into the world of functional food even deeper rather recently with Protein Chips, although while it does have a good amount of protein, the other macronutrients aren’t quite as lean as we would’ve liked to see. That’s not all the busy brand has for that particular part of the industry; it’s also dropped a very different sort of protein snack in Rice Cake. We have seen something like this before, but Genius’ attempt is a bit more balanced with moderate protein and carbohydrates.

Rice Cake from Genius Nutrition is very much what it’s called: a soft, crispy, and crunchy rice cake, 80% of it built from brown rice, and the other fifth is white rice, and then across the top is a layer of flavor. As mentioned, the protein is more moderate at 7.4 to 7.7g in a 40g cake, a similar amount of that in carbohydrates and fiber, again, for a balanced nutrition profile. There are two flavors to choose from for Rice Cake, each separated by the type of coating splashed across the top of the light, nutritious food.

The two options you have to choose from for Genius Nutrition’s Rice Cake are Yogurt, with a coat of sweet yogurt atop the traditional rice-based snack, and Cocoa, where you get a richer and more decadent layer of chocolate. The protein isn’t overly high on this one; however, at the same time, it doesn’t really claim to be. You can give it a shot by ordering directly from the brand’s online store, where you don’t need to commit to an entire box, as it has individual units that are currently on sale at under €1.
