Walmart gets exclusivity of the latest flavor from the household functional name Kodiak

Kodiak Apple Pecan Power Cakes

Kodiak is a functional food company that doesn’t attach itself to sports nutrition or even the health and nutrition supplement space. It built its name and presumably a lot of its following by simply being a better-for-you alternative to traditional pancakes, found right in the pancake aisle alongside some more mainstream and less protein products. For those unfamiliar with Kodiak, it is responsible for Kodiak Power Cakes, a high-protein pancake mix that has been followed by several other functional innovations.

There is a new product out this very month from the rare mainstream functional company but it’s not an extension of its signature protein pancakes, it is a flavor of its lesser known higher protein oatmeal made with pea, milk concentrate, and whey isolate as the sources of protein. The flavor is a deliciousy sweet and wholesome Apple Brown Sugar Pecan, with actual brown sugar in the recipe for an authentic taste. The nutrition profile is nice and balanced, perfect for the morning with 14g of protein per single-packet serving, 26g of carbohydrates, 5g of that sugar and 5g fiber, 4.5g of fat, and a calorie count of 200.

Kodiak does have prebiotic fiber squeezed into its oatmeal product for additional gut health and digestion benefits, alongside the muscle-building effects from the extra protein. There is a catch with the availability of Apple Brown Sugar Pecan, in that you won’t find this one absolutely everywhere, in fact, it is specifically only at one of the brand’s retail partners. If you want to give the even better-for-you oatmeal a try, you’ll need to stop by your local Walmart, as currently, the big box retailer has exclusivity on it.
