Prime’s original 12oz energy drink is going to live on in select retailers

Prime Energy 12oz To Remain

A couple of weeks ago, the functional beverage company Prime released a bigger version of its Prime Energy Drink, a unique occasion where a competitor in the space upsizes, as most of the time we see 16ozers coming down to 12oz. Interestingly, despite the increase in size, the brand has kept the caffeine in the 33% bigger 16oz exactly the same as the smaller original at 200mg, alongside electrolytes, taurine, inositol, and no sugar, a low 3 to 4g of carbohydrates, and calories falling between 10 to 15.

Since that rollout, there have been questions about whether or not the 16oz would replace the 12oz, especially since they have the same 200mg of caffeine per can. We’ve got the answer directly from the company itself, confirming that the 12oz and 16oz Prime Energy Drinks will remain in existence alongside one another. The brand has also said that moving forward, the original 12oz will only be available in select retailers, meaning you will be seeing the big brother more often in coolers.

If you head to drinkprime.com, you’ll see that its entire Prime Energy Drink section has been revamped and now only includes the newly released 16oz in its four flavors: Original, Dripsicle, previously Ice Pop, Dream Pop, and the completely new Cherry Limeade. Again, we have been told by the beverage brand that the 12oz will live on in select stores, so if, for whatever reason, you prefer that over the upsized 16oz, you may want to hunt down a stockist and return there whenever you need to restock.
