Premium carbohydrate Vitargo releases a protein and performance bars in Sweden

Vitargo Performance Bar

Most of the time, when we mention bars, we’re talking high-protein, occasionally great-tasting, nutritious snacks. In the United Kingdom and Europe, there is another somewhat familiar functional food in that classic bar shape, and it is something the premium carbohydrate brand Vitargo has come out with. You may know Vitargo for its self-titled patented carbohydrate, offering rapid absorption and digestion for enhanced performance and recovery.

Vitargo, in its home market of Sweden, has launched two new edible items in the Performance Bar and High Protein Bar. The former is an easy-to-chew snack made with quality wholesome carbohydrate sources like oats and honey, to provide 33g of carbs per piece, just under half of that sugar, around 7g of fat, and 217 calories. As for the Vitargo High Protein Bar, you get 15g of protein from milk protein and soy protein crispies, with fewer carbs, but still moderately high at 24g, half of that sugar, 7.5g of fat, and a higher calorie count of 224.

The functional innovations from Vitargo complement each other rather nicely, both of them packing a fair amount of carbohydrates to drive performance, although one has a bit more to further fuel the body and the other adds a chunk of protein to power up recovery. There is only one flavor available for each of the products, and they are different where Performance Bar comes in Rhubarb & Vanilla, and the High Protein Bar has a classic Chocolate.
