Japanese brand Haleo has pumped out an all-new pre-workout, and while the formula behind it is relatively straightforward in terms of its variety of ingredients, it has done a damn good job on dosages. The supplement is named Octane, and it is built to improve and enhance energy, focus, pumps, and performance, with at least one ingredient present to support each of those core workout-driving benefits.
For better pumps, Haleo has packed Octane with 5g of straight citrulline into each of its 20 servings, then, for performance, you get the usual 3.2g of beta-alanine. Taking care of the other corners of the experience, there is a gram of premium Saberry amla fruit, half a gram of tyrosine for focus, then taking the wheel for energy is, of course, the traditional caffeine anhydrous at a moderate 200mg.
As mentioned, the variety of ingredients is reasonable, but the dosages are what make Haleo’s Octane pre-workout much more respectable. The caffeine is not high, which does leave the door open for those who like harder-hitting pre-workouts to heap or double scoop, although that is about normal for the Japanese market. Stimulants in products over there aren’t too prevalent, especially compared to the US.
Haleo is one of the more notable domestic brands out of Japan, and it’s doing a solid job with its supplements, the Octane pre-workout being another shining example of that. The brand has launched it in the one Grape flavor, again, with 20 maximum servings per tub, and the price for it is ¥8,800 (59.70 USD).
