Pon Pon Snacks is launching a high-protein and low-sugar alternative to the iconic Pocky

Pon Pon Snacks

The world of functional foods is incredibly fun and endlessly creative, as it has way more directions for innovators to go, by infusing all different types of treats, snacks, and drinks with active ingredients and alternative nutrition. This has led to a whole host of deliciously enjoyable products that sneak in things like more protein or less sugar, which is what Lauren Pon has planned with her innovative new brand, Pon Pon Snacks.

The launch of Pon Pon Snacks is still a while away, but anticipation is growing, and you’ll see why when you hear what Lauren has been working on. Pon Pon is going to start with the industry’s first protein Pocky; basically, a higher protein version of the iconic Pocky biscuit treat. For those not familiar with the product, it is a long and thin biscuit stick that is almost entirely covered in a flavorful coating, with many options available.

Pon Pon Snacks

Pon Pon Snacks’ upcoming Protein Biscuit Sticks will have 9g of protein per serving, a low 7g of net carbohydrates, only a gram or two of sugar, and under 200 calories. That’s about twice the protein compared to the same amount of the original Pocky, significantly higher carbohydrates, and about ten times the sugar. It’s your classic better-for-you alternative, and of course, a lot of work is going into the flavor.

Lauren Pon and Pon Pon Snacks is planning to launch the promising Protein Biscuit Sticks sometime this coming winter, so again, they are still a while away from becoming available. There are two flavors currently on the cards for the debut of the protein Pocky in a sweet Strawberry Milk and a rich, earthy Matcha Latte.
