The massive fitness YouTuber Mike Israetel, alongside Giacomo Zacchia, launched a compact protein shot last year by way of Genius Shot. It is a concept we’ve seen over in Europe, where you get 23g of protein squeezed into a 100ml drink that you can swallow in a single mouthful. The innovation relies on premium Lacprodan BLG-100 beta-lactoglobulin as a complete source of protein, and it has absolutely no sugar, carbohydrates, or fat, for a lean 90 calories.
Mike Israetel’s Genius Shot has now been transformed, at least the look, story, and representation, while the protein shot is mostly the same. The bestselling Author, motivational speaker, and podcaster, Mel Robbins, has officially launched Pure Genius, which, from what we understand, is the new Genius Shot. If you go to geniusshot.com, you’ll be redirected to puregeniusprotein.com, and if you go to the original brand’s Instagram, it says “now @puregeniusprotein”.
The formula in Pure Genius’s protein shot is not identical to the Genius Shot, as it doesn’t rely entirely on Lacprodan. Instead, Mel Robbins uses Lacprodan BLG-100 beta-lactoglobulin and collagen for 23g of protein in a 100ml bottle, the former being the primary source. The rest of the macros are similarly lean, and it comes in three different flavors with Strawberry Guava, Blueberry Lemonade, and an exotic Pineapple.
It’s quite interesting to see the transition and how Mel Robbins’ Pure Genius doesn’t reference Genius Shot, although again, the Instagram page for the Mike Israetel innovation does say “now @puregeniusprotein”.
