It’s not all that uncommon for sports nutrition companies in India to also dabble in the world of functional food, far more common than you get here in the US. Whether it’s high-protein peanut butter, functional oatmeal, or some sort of beverage, brands over there are more varied in formats. Divine Nutrition already has some food items on the market, but its latest is more familiar with a protein bar.
Divine Nutrition’s Protein Wafer Bar is the Indian brand’s first bar-format innovation. True to its name, it will feature layers of crispy and crunchy wafer with chocolate in between, and a thicker layer of rich milk chocolate around the outside. On the inside in the nutrition department, each bar comes with a moderate 12g of protein, 11g of fat, 10g of carbohydrates, 5.5g of that sugar, and a calorie count of 184.

It is worth noting that on the label of the Protein Wafer Bar, it says that the protein is on a dry basis. This is something we’ve explained before, which is a term for the protein based on something with all of the moisture removed. That is not what you’re going to get when buying it from the shelf, although we’ve never actually seen this done for a protein bar.
Aside from the rather intriguing callout of “dry basis” protein, Divine Nutrition’s Protein Wafer Bar looks and sounds pretty good. It has those many light and crunchy wafer layers with various chocolate levels, all with 12g of protein from a quality blend of whey concentrate, isolate, and hydrolysate. The protein bar is going live in the brand’s website shortly at the reasonable price of ₹360 (4.09 USD) for a box of six.
