Glanbia sells weight management brand SlimFast to Splenda owner Heartland

Glanbia Sells Slimfast To Splenda

SlimFast is a long-running name in weight management, known for its shakes, meal replacements, and snack products designed to support calorie control and healthy living. For years, it sat under the ownership of Glanbia, the multinational that also houses major sports nutrition names like BSN, Isopure, LevlUp, Nutramino, and the iconic Optimum Nutrition. Its portfolio gave Glanbia reach across a more mainstream audience, very different from its other brands.

Glanbia has now sold SlimFast to Heartland Food Products Group, the company behind Splenda. The SlimFast acquisition is an interesting one, as the giant corporation previously didn’t have anything in the supplement industry. According to Heartland, the acquisition aligns SlimFast with Splenda in its mission to empower healthier choices, addressing consumer needs in sugar reduction and weight management with a complementary set of solutions under one roof.

Altogether, the move transitions SlimFast from Glanbia to Heartland, pairing it with Splenda as part of a focused push in everyday health and lifestyle products. It sounds like there won’t be any immediate changes made to SlimFast’s direction and products, staying on that healthier, weight management path. It will be interesting to see what comes later down the line, whether Heartland gets into innovation and expansion, and puts its own touch in some places.
