Ayurvedic brand BetterAlt takes on the competitive protein powder market

Betteralt Plant Protein

Health and wellness brand BetterAlt out of India hasn’t really gone after any traditional categories, as seen in some of its most popular innovations like Pure Shilajit Honey Sticks and Pure Shilajit Gummies. Its line is heavily shaped around Ayurvedic solutions, with strong use of the likes of shilajit and ashwagandha. The brand has genuinely gone in a different direction in its latest innovation, tackling one of the busiest categories out there in its own individual way.

BetterAlt Plant Protein has just hit the market, the first-ever protein powder from the Ayurvedic brand, and it is completely plant-based, powered by fermented yeast protein and pea protein. Together they provide a solid 25g of protein per serving, with minimal carbohydrates at 3.8g, none of that sugar, 2.4g of fat, and 137 calories. Those numbers are about the same as your standard whey-powered protein supplement, which is impressive, as usually vegan-friendly offerings tip the carbohydrates a bit higher and, in turn, the calories too.

Plant Protein from BetterAlt promises a smooth protein shake experience, like some of the top-tasting competitors in the category with only one flavor available in Coco Chocolate. The whole product is about what we’d expect from the brand as its protein powder debut, and it’s available in a few options. You can grab BetterAlt Plant Protein in boxes of five sachets at ₹699, a 500g bag at ₹1,299, and the best value option, a 1kg pouch at ₹1,999 (21.73 USD).
