Century-old plant-based milk brand Elmhurst comes out with a protein drink

Elmhurst Clean Protein Drink

Elmhurst is a mainstream dairy company that has proudly been around since 1925, meaning it has now been in business for more than 100 years. It is known for its reliable selection of plant-based items, including almond, oat, and pistachio milk, oat creamer in a variety of flavors, and starting this month, Clean Protein. Like many others out there, Elmhurst has decided to get on the protein trend and release a ready-to-drink protein product in the style you’d expect.

The all-new Elmhurst Clean Protein Drink is a plant-powered protein shake that comes in four flavors that have a real gourmet look and feel with Sea Salt Chocolate, Pistachio Creme, Vanilla, and Strawberries & Cream. They all have a solid 27g of protein in an 11oz bottle, primarily from a blend of pea and mung bean protein. The carbohydrates range from 7 to 11g with 3 to 4g of that sugar and 2 to 5g fiber, and 5 to 6g of fat, all ending on a consistent 190 calories.

Elmhurst has basically continued its plant-based approach seen in its many other mainstream-style products into the ready-to-drink protein market, and it doesn’t use all that many ingredients outside of its cashew milk base, cane sugar, flavoring, and monk fruit. You can actually go direct to get your hands on the new Clean Protein, where it has packs of two at $9.98, and while there are four and 12 packs, the value doesn’t change at all, staying around $5 per drink.
