Australian MMA legend, Alexander Volkanovski, more simply known as Volk, has launched a protein bar under his health and nutrition company, CMBT Nutrition. This isn’t the brand’s first round in the format and category; it has actually had a plant-based competitor on the market for some time, packing 15g of the muscle-building macro. Before then, it also had Reload, a more complex offering infused with Curcumin C3, electrolytes, and probiotics.
The newest protein snack from Alexander Volkanovski and CMBT Nutrition is named after the man himself in the Volk Bar, and this time around, it isn’t using a vegan-friendly formula. The brand has rolled together traditional whey, milk powder, and pea isolate to provide a solid 17.5g of protein per piece. That amount remains across each of the flavors, while the other macros vary slightly at just under 10g of carbohydrates, 5 to 6g of sugar, 8 to 10g of fat, and 180 to 195 calories.
CMBT Nutrition has gone for a very clean and transparent approach in the Volk Bar, relying entirely on natural ingredients, no sugar alcohols, and, for a touch of wellness, there are added probiotics and prebiotic fiber to support gut health and digestion.
The latest functional innovation from Alexander Volkanovski and his brand CMBT Nutrition is available first through the brand’s online store at cmbt.com.au, and the price is not too bad. Directly from CMBT, the Volk Bar is $72 (51.68 USD) for a box of 12, and while on the website, there is also a full rundown of each ingredient and why it’s in there. As for flavors, there are three to choose from in Chocolate Honeycomb, Chocolate Mint, and Chocolate Cherry.
