The year of carbonated beverages in the supplement industry

In the past 12 months, we’ve seen an increase in the number of carbonated type products hitting the supplement industry, coming from a variety of companies, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. 2018 appears to be the year for carbonated drinks especially now that we’ve seen a lot of the more prominent brands jump on the trend.

The whole thing kind of started around the time ProSupps decided to take on the energy drink category with its TeaCrine infused Hyde Power Potion. Since then its almost been news of another new energy, amino or pre-workout drink each month, with some serious competitors hitting the market.

The most significant carbonated drinks we’ve seen released would be Cellucor’s C4 Ultimate and the incredibly well flavored ‘Merica Energy. Each product is unique in its own right with the C4 Ultimate drink proving that you can fit a great formula into a carbonated can, and ‘Merica Energy showing just how good an energy drink can taste.

While we have seen a lot of new products hit the market, we’ve also seen the long-running Bang Energy from VPX really deliver some excitement. It’s almost been teaser after teaser with new flavors for the brand’s caffeinated beverage, and just like newcomers to the category, the brand doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

Even on our end we can see the growing interest in these types of products as posts involving them always tend to draw at least twice as much attention as others. It’s also quite exciting seeing so many brands creating carbonated drinks, as heavy competition generally leads to more innovation as we’ve seen in other areas of the industry.

Moving into the final few months of the year, we’re certainly looking forward to seeing what’s next for the increasingly popular carbonated drink market. We do know of a few unreleased projects in the works, so if you’ve been enjoying all of these great releases, there is still more to come.
