Introducing Australia’s Tonik Nutrition and its two on-the-go protein RTDs

tonik nutrition

Tonik Nutrition is a fresh new Australian supplement company that only hit the market a few months ago in February of this year. It is actually an on-the-go brand that currently only makes beverages, with two to choose from, each with their own distinct point of difference. The products that make up the Tonik Nutrition family are Tonik Pro and Tonik Plant.

Tonik Pro and Tonik Plant are quite similar, as they’re both ready-to-drink protein shakes. What sets them apart from one another is their sources of protein. Tonik Nutrition’s Tonik Pro is dairy-based with added vitamins and minerals, and provides 20g of protein from a blend of milk concentrate and sodium caseinate. The other macros are not too bad, with 4.3 to 5.4g of fat, 9 to 13.1g of carbohydrates, and 160 to 184 calories.

As for Tonik Plant, that product also packs 20g of protein per shake but from a plant-based blend of pea and brown rice protein. The rest of the vegan product’s nutrition profile is actually leaner than Tonik Pro, which is not typically the case with dairy versus vegan protein RTDs. Alongside the 20g of protein is 4.6g of fat, 2 to 2.3g of carbohydrates with 300mg or less of that sugar, and a calorie count of 132 to 150.

While Tonik Nutrition’s family of two is quite small at the moment, the Australian company does already have other products in the works. One of those upcoming items is Tonik Active, which will be quite different from Tonik Pro and Tonik Plant. Tonik Active is going to be the brand’s functional, amino-based beverage featuring aminos like glutamine and arginine, as well as added vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes.

Tonik Nutrition may be new, but it is already well distributed in Australia with several retail partners. The brand also has a number of flavors for fans to choose from with six for Tonik Pro, including creative options like Chocolate Honeycomb and Coffee. Tonik Plant has five flavors on its menu with the likes of Salted Caramel and Banana Toffee, while Tonik Active will be launching in more fruit-based tastes.
