Introducing DuelFuel and its unique two-in-one bar for performance and recovery

Duelfuel

We always enjoy seeing creative and intriguing approaches to the world of functional food, and DuelFuel’s concept might be one of the most interesting we’ve seen in the space for some time. DuelFuel is another functional company out of Europe, specifically the UK, and what makes its premier product so interesting is that it actually comes with two bars per pack, and they’re designed for different purposes.

The idea behind DuelFuel and its self-titled product is it comes with two bars per pack; one is to give you the fuel to perform, and the other is to support recovery, hence the tagline “Two Fuels. One System”.

Performance Bar

DuelFuel’s performance bar is an oat-based flapjack with added whey concentrate, providing 20.8g of performance fueling carbohydrates, 7.9g of that sugar, 6.7g of fat, a light 3.9g of protein, and 155 calories. The brand has squeezed in a variety of vitamins and minerals as well to support general health and wellness, with all of them included at 20 to 25% of your recommended daily intake.

Recovery Bar

The other half of the DuelFuel experience is the recovery bar — ideally eaten after exercise — and it is much higher in protein, lower in carbohydrates, and infused with the same dosages of 27 different vitamins and minerals as the performance bar. The macros on this one are a respectable 21.8g of protein, only 8g of carbohydrates with 3.3g of that sugar, 3.9g of fat, and only slightly lower calories at 152.

Duelfuel Flavors

Again, the DuelFuel nutrition bar or set is an incredibly interesting concept, and, of course, it can be scaled. For those that want more carbohydrates for exercise and protein for recovery, you can have two, providing 41.6g of carbs and 43.6g of protein, and that’d also bring the amounts of vitamins and minerals close to or right on 100% of your recommended daily intake.

Price and flavors

DuelFuel’s performance and recovery experience is available from its website at £34.80 (41.55 USD) for a box of one flavor, or if you want to try all three of its different flavors, there is a full box for the same £34.80 and a six-pack at £20.40 (24.36 USD). The flavors available are Peanut Butter & Chocolate (performance) and Chocolate Brownie (recovery), Berries & White Chocolate and Lemon Drizzle Cake, and Pecan Maple & Chocolate and Orange & Chocolate Cake Slice.
